Did you know that the first element of an incoming message that we often see, especially on a mobile device, is not the sender’s email address but their display name?

Quick Tips

  • Even if a sender’s name or email address looks familiar, make sure to examine the rest of the email for suspicious links, attachments, or messaging.  

  • On mobile devices, click through the display name to verify that the actual email address is legit.
